How would you like to win a Deadly? Well you can! Deadly Vibe Group will be running the Deadly Dressed competition at this year’s Deadly Awards to be held at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday 10 September 2013.
The 2014 Deadly Awards will not be held this year.
Regarded by many to be the world’s best player, it isn’t surprising that Johnathan Thurston can lay claim to owning the most number of Deadlys for Achievement in the NRL. The Cowboys and Queensland half is in fact the only player to have won the award more than once, and was voted the top Indigenous league player in 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2011.
Each year the Deadlys showcases the best of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent who are role models for our community, for Australia and particularly our young people.
In 2013 and across 28 award categories there’ll be the achievers – those who’ve shown what it takes to strive for excellence in their field whether it be music, sport, the arts, entertainment and at the grassroots level.
Singer/songwriter Thelma Plum has gone from strength to strength in the past year, releasing her debut six-track EP Rosie following her 2012 Deadly for best emerging talent. Since the homemade demo of Father Said and her Deadlys® win, Thelma has recorded her debut EP with Tony Buchen (John Butler/Washington) in late 2012.
